1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out what you may and may not do with WaseerHost services. It protects our customers, our network, our IP address reputation and the wider internet. It forms part of our Terms of Service and applies to every Service, every user of your account, and everyone to whom you give access (including your own customers if you are a reseller).
Where this AUP does not list a specific activity, we will judge it by whether it is lawful and whether it harms others or our infrastructure.
2. Illegal and harmful content
The Services may not be used to store, publish, send or link to material that:
- is illegal in the United States, in the country where the server is located (USA, Germany or Finland), or in the country where you are based;
- infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret or similar IP rights (see our DMCA & Abuse Policy);
- is defamatory, or publishes someone's private information without a lawful basis;
- threatens, harasses or incites violence against people or groups, or promotes terrorism or violent extremism;
- promotes or facilitates human trafficking, or sexual services where these are illegal;
- sells or facilitates illegal drugs, weapons, explosives, counterfeit goods, or prescription medication without the required licences;
- supports financial fraud, including Ponzi or pyramid schemes, high-yield investment programmes (HYIPs), fake shops, advance-fee scams or unlicensed gambling;
- impersonates another person, brand or organisation in a way intended to deceive; or
- breaches sanctions or export-control laws.
Adult content. Lawful adult content involving consenting adults is permitted only on VPS and dedicated servers and must be age-gated and compliant with all applicable laws, including record-keeping requirements.
3. Child sexual abuse material: zero tolerance
We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexualises minors, including drawn or computer-generated imagery. If we find or are notified of such material, we will:
- remove access immediately and terminate the account without notice or refund;
- preserve relevant data as required by law; and
- report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement, as required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A and the laws of the country where the server is located.
4. Spam and email abuse
You must not:
- send unsolicited bulk or commercial email, or email to lists you bought, rented or scraped;
- send email that breaks the US CAN-SPAM Act, the EU ePrivacy rules, the UK PECR, Canada's CASL or similar laws;
- forge headers, hide the true sender, or use misleading subject lines;
- run open mail relays, or host websites advertised through spam sent from anywhere;
- harvest email addresses or other personal data without consent.
Mailing lists you send from our servers must be opt-in (ideally confirmed opt-in), must include a working unsubscribe link, and must honour unsubscribe requests promptly.
Sending limits. To protect our IP reputation, shared, WordPress, WooCommerce and reseller plans have an hourly outgoing email limit per account or per domain (for example, 100 messages per hour on shared plans; the current limit for your plan is available on request). For newsletters and bulk mailing, please use a dedicated email marketing service.
If your activity causes one of our IP addresses or domains to be blocklisted, we may charge you the reasonable cost of the clean-up and delisting work.
5. Malware, phishing and hacking
You must not:
- host, distribute or link to viruses, ransomware, trojans, botnet controllers, exploit kits or other malicious code;
- host phishing pages, credential-harvesting forms, or pages imitating banks, payment services or other brands;
- attempt to access any system, account or data without authorisation, including port scanning, vulnerability scanning, brute-force login attempts and password cracking against systems you do not own or have written permission to test;
- launch or take part in denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks, or run "booter" or "stresser" services;
- intercept or monitor traffic that is not yours, or spoof IP addresses or packet headers.
Security testing of your own systems is allowed. Testing of any third-party system requires the owner's written authorisation, which you must show us on request.
Compromised sites. If your site is hacked and used for any of the above, we may suspend it until it is cleaned. We will tell you what we found. Keeping software, plugins and passwords secure is your responsibility.
6. Network misuse
You must not:
- run open proxies, open DNS resolvers, open SMTP relays or other services that let anyone use them anonymously;
- run public VPN or anonymising proxy services on shared plans;
- run Tor exit nodes on any plan;
- use IP addresses we have not assigned to you;
- send email directly through port 25 in a way that bypasses our mail servers. On VPS and dedicated servers, outbound port 25 may be blocked by default and opened on request after a review;
- do anything that is likely to get our IP ranges blocklisted or cause retaliation against our network.
7. Cryptocurrency mining and resource-heavy uses
- Cryptocurrency mining (of any coin, including browser-based mining scripts) is prohibited on all shared, WordPress, WooCommerce and reseller plans, and on VPS plans. It is allowed on dedicated servers only with our written approval.
- Shared plans may not be used for: file-sharing, torrent trackers or seeding, video streaming servers, game servers, backup or archive storage, image or file hosting services, or long-running background processes and bots.
- On shared plans, you must stay within the resource limits set for your plan (CPU, memory, processes, input/output and inodes). See section 8 of the Terms of Service on fair use of "unlimited" and "unmetered" resources.
- On VPS and dedicated servers, you may use the resources you pay for, but must not generate traffic or load that harms our network or other customers.
8. Account and security duties
You must:
- keep your login details secure and not share them with people who should not have access;
- keep your applications, themes, plugins and operating systems updated;
- give us accurate contact details so we can reach you about abuse or security issues; and
- respond to our abuse notices within the time we ask.
9. How we enforce this policy
We investigate reports and incidents in proportion to the risk. Depending on how serious the issue is, we may:
- Notify you and ask you to fix the problem within a set time (usually 24 to 72 hours, shorter for urgent matters).
- Remove or disable specific content, block ports or limit resources.
- Suspend the affected Service, or the whole account.
- Terminate the Service or account, with no refund where the breach is serious or repeated.
- Report the activity to law enforcement, NCMEC, anti-abuse organisations or affected parties where required or appropriate.
- Recover costs reasonably caused by the breach, such as clean-up, blocklist removal or handling complaints.
We may act without prior notice where there is an immediate risk to people, to our network or to other customers, including for CSAM, active phishing, malware distribution, ongoing attacks, or large-scale spam. We will then tell you what we did and why.
We do not routinely monitor customer content, and this policy does not create any duty for us to do so. We act on complaints, automated security alerts and other information we receive.
If you believe we have acted in error, reply to the abuse notice or open a ticket and we will review the decision.
10. Reporting a violation
Report abuse to [email protected] with as much detail as possible (URLs, IP addresses, full email headers, timestamps and evidence). Copyright complaints should follow our DMCA & Abuse Policy.
11. Changes
We may update this AUP to deal with new threats or legal requirements. The current version is always on this page, and material changes will be notified as described in our Terms of Service.
