We read the domain's creation date from the official registry record (RDAP, or WHOIS where RDAP isn't available) and count the years, months and days from then to today.
Not directly. Google has said the age of a domain isn't a ranking factor. Older domains often rank well because they've had years to earn links and build content, and links and content are what help rankings.
Age is a quick trust signal. A shop or a "bank" website registered last week deserves extra caution, and if you're buying a domain, its age and history affect its value.
Yes. If a domain is deleted and registered again, the registry shows the new creation date, so the age starts from zero. Transfers and renewals don't change it.
